Mirihi Island, Maldives, unveils new Bespoke Honeymoon Packages

Exclusive boutique island retreat Mirihi Island in the breathtaking Maldives has today announced the launch of four new bespoke honeymoon offerings now available to book for the coming season, all of which reject the market’s usual ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach.

Brides and Grooms can pick from four deluxe options: Supermoon, Pampermoon, Foodiemoon and Adventuremoon; all of which can be individually tailored according to taste and preference.

With just 37 private villas, Mirihi Island provides an incredibly romantic haven and goes above and beyond to create unforgettable memories for its guests.

The Supermoon

Mirihi Island’s most indulgent post-nuptial package, the Supermoon, was designed for the couple that wants to splash out and have it all. Bride and Groom will be hosted in one of the property’s best Water Villas, all of which enjoy direct access to the house reef from a private sun deck.

Supermooners will enjoy Mirihi’s most unforgettable experiences, including a private boat trip on a traditional Maldivian Dhoni, during which they will enjoy a Champagne breakfast on board followed by a visit to their very own private island for a picnic lunch.

Other spoiling treats include an extravagant ‘Full Moon Magic’ couples’ spa package, a ‘Dolphins at Sunset’ cruise on the island’s private yacht, Mirihi Thari, where newlyweds can admire the ocean’s friendliest creatures to the tune of romantic live music, and a private beach cinema viewing of their favourite movie, complete with cocktails and canapés to match the film.

Mirihi Island’s Supermoon Package starts from $5,650 (£4,016*) per couple for seven nights in a Water Villa on a half board basis and includes a private Dhoni trip with Champagne breakfast on board followed by an island castaway with picnic lunch, a Full Moon Magic spa package, a ‘Dolphins at Sunset’ cruise on the yacht ‘Mirihi Thari’ and a private beach cinema experience for two.

The Pampermoon

For those seeking a week of pure relaxation following months of stressful wedding planning, Mirihi’s ‘Pampermoon’ is a dream come true.

Couples will be invited to start each day against the backdrop of the rising sun with a private energising yoga session. Later they will head to Mirihi’s Duniye Spa for a series of pampering treatments including the 135-minute ‘Full Moon Magic’, during which guests will enjoy Champagne, top-to-toe massages, body polishes and a tropical bath infusion, and a ‘Honeymoon Indulgence’ ritual featuring his-and-hers massages in a romantic setting. A wide range of additional treatments will also be available on request.

As night falls on the island, Mirihi’s ‘Elemental Spa & Dine’ package will spoil Pampermooners with a paired treatment-and-dining experience. Lovebirds can select their preference from an ‘Earth’ or ‘Water’ spa and dinner menu, before enjoying a bespoke couples’ treatment and private Champagne dinner for two on the beach.

Mirihi Island’s Pampermoon Package starts from $5,490 (£3,902*) per couple for seven nights in a Water Villa on a half board basis and includes private daily yoga sessions, ‘Full Moon Magic’ and ‘Honeymoon Indulgence’ spa packages and an ‘Elemental Spa & Dine’ experience.

The Foodiemoon

Home to a sand-floored buffet restaurant where guests can dine toes-in-the-sand, a romantic à la carte restaurant built on stilts in the turquoise lagoon, a wine lounge stocked with the best wines from around the world and a bar with the largest collection of rum in the Indian Ocean, Mirihi Island is a gastronomic paradise for those who enjoy the good things in life.

A private sunrise fishing trip will see couples climb aboard Mirihi’s fully-equipped Dhoni fishing boat to experience the Maldivian sunrise and try their hand at catching a tuna, wahoo or – if they are lucky – a jack fish. Upon return, their catch of the day will be handed to the island’s chefs and expertly cooked to order in time for a private, candlelit dinner on the beach.

Foodiemooners can hone their skills at Mirihi’s much-loved Maldivian cookery classes, before unwinding with a wine tasting session at the Ruhgandu Wine Lounge or a rum-and-chocolate tasting session on the beach.

Mirihi Island’s Foodiemoon Package starts from $4,750 (£3,376*) per couple for seven nights in a Water Villa on a half board basis and includes a private sunrise fishing trip, candlelit beach dinner, a Maldivian cookery class and a wine or rum and chocolate tasting session.

 The Adventuremoon

Thrill-seeking couples can cross plenty off their honeymoon bucket-list with Mirihi Island’s ‘Adventuremoon’ package, which includes day-and-night snorkelling and diving, swimming with whale sharks, dolphin spotting and a visit to a nearby inhabited island.

Home to one of the best reefs in the Maldives for snorkelling and diving, the waters around the island are teaming with a huge array of fish, turtles, reef sharks, sting rays and eagle rays. The opportunity to dive and snorkel at night provides an awesome experience, when the reef becomes a parallel world as dazzling sea life including bioluminescent plankton, scorpion and puffer fish share the open seas.

A truly unforgettable ‘Whale Shark Safari’ will see couples board a stunning 55ft pine-wood yacht, with local experts guiding them to the best areas to spot and swim with the gentle giants in their natural habitat.

Adventuremooners can mix with the locals and experience an authentic taste of Maldivian life during a boat trip to a local island, while a ‘Dolphins at Sunset’ cruise provides the perfect setting to toast a glass of Champagne to married life.

Mirihi Island’s Adventuremoon Package starts from $5,390 (£3,831*) per couple for seven nights in a Water Villa on a half board basis and includes two (one day and one night) guided dive or snorkelling sessions, a ‘Whale Shark Safari’, a local island visit and a ‘Dolphins at Sunset’ cruise.
