Sir David McVicar’s exhilarating production of Verdi’s thrilling tragedy, Il Trovatore, returns to the Metropolitan Opera later this month, running for just eight performances from 22 January to 15 February, 2018.
The production will star Jennifer Rowley in her Met role debut as the heroine Leonora, alongside Yonghoon Lee as Manrico and Anita Rachvelishvili as the mysterious gypsy, Azucena. Quinn Kelsey and Luca Salsi will share the role of Manrico’s rival, Count di Luna, and Štefan Kocán and Kwangchul Youn will both sing the role of Ferrando.
Dolora Zajick sings her signature role of Azucena for one performance on February 6, 2018.
Marco Armiliato will conduct all performances.
